On March 2, 2018, thirty-five participants in the Scholars & Leaders Personal Library Club visited the William Howard Taft National Historical Site in Mount Auburn. Ms. Richard, Lead Intervention Specialist, is the Founder and Sponsor of the Scholars & Leaders Personal Library Club. The goal of this 2nd field trip was to provide students with an opportunity to explore their hometown, learn more about Cincinnatian William Howard Taft, who became the 27th President of the United States, and find out more about Ohio history. In the Education Center, students watched a video and viewed displays about the life of William Howard Taft. Park Rangers provided a guided tour of William Howard Taft's childhood home. Fourth graders were offered the opportunity to earn a free "Every Kid in a Park Pass". This pass will allow the students and their families free entry into thousands of federal sites in the United States.
