Student Recycler Award

“Most impactful for me was out of all the adults in the room – the awesome 5th grader, Daymajai Rogers, who without a lot a show or demanding recognition – “get...s it” and “takes action” to teach others to make an impact. I appreciate the county for recognizing the students – it sends a message to adults that if children care about the future earth – we should too. Even with that – when I congratulated Daymajai and told him how he inspired me and what a great leader he was, Daymajai humbly said, “I couldn’t of done it without my teachers.” Blew my socks off!”

All this about Daymajai Rogers from Winton Preparatory Academy who was nominated by Ms. Horrocks for the annual Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District Student Recycler Award. Mr. Wallace and Ms. Horrocks picked him up in an Uber, brought him to the awards, sat with him while he was very polite though the entire ceremony, and then treated him to lunch and a milk shake on the way back to school! What a fun and exciting day for Daymajai!!
